At Cacoullis Opticians, we are proud to offer the CUES (Community Urgent Eyecare Service) - an NHS-funded service designed to help patients with sudden or urgent eye problems, without the need to visit A&E or their GP.

Whether you’re experiencing red eyes, sudden vision changes, flashes and floaters, painful eyes, or a foreign body injury, we’re here to help - quickly, safely, and professionally.

What Sets Us Apart

We are the only Independent Prescribing (IP) Optometrists in the area offering this service — which means we can do more than assess your eye problem. We are fully qualified to diagnose, treat, and prescribe NHS prescriptions for medications, where necessary, right from our practice.

This allows us to manage most urgent eye conditions in-house, reducing unnecessary referrals and delays in treatment. We can also carry out foreign body removal and other minor procedures that would otherwise require a hospital visit.
