Contact Lens Information
Initial Contact Lens Fitting
- Includes fitting, diagnostic trial lenses, teaching insertion & removal and includes follow-up examination
- We will examine your eyes to check their health and suitable for contact lenses. We will then choose the most suitable diagnostic trial lenses based on these findings
- Our experts are on hand to go through a one-to-one teaching appointment to help you insert and remove contact lenses
- Once we have determined the most suitable contact lens to suit your lifestyle and prescription needs, the next stage is to undertake a trial period with the proposed lenses, so that you can find out if they are right for you
- We will arrange for a follow-up appointment, usually within 1-2 weeks
- At the end of the visit, we will order contact lenses and issue a contact lens specification. If you decide not to proceed after the initial contact lens fitting process, there is no extra charge.
Contact Lens Aftercare
- Includes vision assessment, slit lamp examination with fluorescein assessment and evaluation of the contact lens fit
- The Opticians Act dictates that it is illegal to supply contact lenses to an expired contact lens specification
- Thus, regular contact lens aftercare is essential to allow supply, but most importantly, to ensure the contact lenses worn are suitable for your health and prescription needs
- Optometrists recommend a contact lens aftercare either annually or every 2 years
