Nasir Ahmed

- Nasir successfully completed the Masters in Optometry degree at the University of Manchester with a First Class Honours in 2016. Since then, he has worked in a variety of settings including the Manchester royal eye hospital, as well as teaching students at Aston University.

Nasir loves working in his independent practice as he is able to give patients the time and quality care they deserve. Nasir recently completed his postgraduate certificate to become a medical retina specialist, and if that wasn’t enough, he is now a specialist independent prescribing optometrist! He is one of the first and very few practitioners to have gained this qualification in the local area, and he is now working towards a specialist qualification in glaucoma.
- When he isn’t busy fixing eyes, Nasir and Ameerah have a young daughter who keeps them on their toes at all hours of the day (and even night some days!) He loves to travel, play badminton and go to the local gym.

Ameerah graduated from the University of Bradford in 2015, where she was awarded the Bausch and Lomb Contact Lens Prize for two consecutive years. Since then, she has worked across a range of clinical settings, including a private eye hospital in Birmingham, and has also been involved in teaching in final year clinics at Aston University.

Ameerah and Nasir share a deep passion for delivering high-quality, personalised eye care in their independent practice — something they believe is truly unique and unmatched elsewhere. Ameerah has completed a postgraduate certificate in medical retina through the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, as well as a postgraduate certificate in glaucoma at Aston University. She is currently studying for the Independent Prescribing qualification, which she is due to complete by the end of this year.

Outside of clinic life, Ameerah enjoys staying active at the gym, discovering new foodie spots, and travelling with Nasir and their two little ones, who certainly keep them on their toes. They’re both avid travellers and love exploring new destinations as a family.
